A Cup With A Broad Reach

Novo Coffee may be a locally run business, but its reach is global. The Denver-based company is very proud of the single origins of the coffee beans they roast and the economic relationships that are formed with each and every purchase. Novo works with farmers in El Salvador, Ethiopia and Papua New Guinea, to name a few, to bring unique varietals and flavor profiles to the coffee-loving public. MATTER recently worked with the team on a packaging solution that debuted in the high-end gift bags at the Telluride Film Festival last month. Now available in 2oz. and 4oz. portions you can ask for Novo's roasted loveliness in small 'tasting portions'—that is—until you find your true love.

To have a taste of their unique brews stop by their coffee bar in the ground floor of the Museum Residences at 1200 Acoma Street, or in the Denver Art Museum’s gift shop.

Design by Colorado

MATTER got to design an exhibit about Design in our fair State. Including the fields of furniture, product, communication, interior, product and interaction design, the Design by Colorado exhibition features some of Colorado’s leading designers and highlights the State’s thriving creative sector, the fifth largest economy in Colorado. Twenty eight Colorado design studios kick off 2011, DIA’s Year of Design, during which the airport’s exhibitions focus on design, exposing the audience to this diverse and vibrant discipline. The talent is impressive we hope you like "the skin it's in" too.

The exhibit is located before security in the pedestrian walkway between the main terminal and Concourse A.

Accessible Design for the Masses

Design for another 90% was organized by the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum and is being shown locally at the Redline Main Gallery.

The name of the exhibit says it all. Of the world’s total population of 6.5 billion, 5.8 billion or 90% have little or no access to most of the products and services many of us take for granted. The focus of this exhibit is on the growing movement among designers to design low-cost solutions for this “other 90%” What is being done in the fields of Transportation, Energy, Education, Health, Water and Shelter are highlighted. Redline has an impressive lecture series on a wide assortment of topics. MATTER's Rick Griffith presented last week in their final roundtable on 'Education'. You should check out the show in person before it closes.

Exhibition of July 8th —September 26th, 2011

Jelly’s dishing out a website

Like most restaurant business’s today, Jelly knows that their best referral is by word-of-mouth or through social media networks. MATTER had worked with the owners of the capital Hill eatery to craft their successful brand, and has taken the same dynamic approach with their website. With a focus on the Yelp API and Twitter postings, Jelly’s content is constantly self-updating. Our thinking, let the word get out about the business and often. This keeps Jelly’s staff focused on earning their good reviews, one customer at a time.
